We are a nonprofit organization focused on supporting disabled folks who work in (or want to work in) book publishing (i.e. publishers, agents, lit mags, etc) in the United States. We will collaborate with other groups (e.g. authors, booksellers, librarians, international), but that is the focus. We're not sponsored or run by any other organization. We are a nonprofit organization with 501c3 status as of November 22nd, 2022 and are in the process of raising funds in order to make a greater positive impact in the publishing industry. Our definition of disability is broad and inclusive of invisible & chronic illnesses and neurodiversity (among others). We're not here to gatekeep anyone's identity. No! We know that self-identifying as disabled in this industry can be precarious and welcome you to participate to the extent you feel comfortable. We obtain explicit consent from everyone who is mentioned/listed on our site. We are also not here to gatekeep and don't require people to disclose their disability in order to use any of our resources.
